Pilot terms
KinRate is a pre-launch pilot product. These terms describe the current pilot rules in plain language and will be replaced with formal public terms before launch.
What KinRate does
KinRate remembers what your family already recommended and keeps those saved scores for next time. Chat lives in a KinRate family WhatsApp room (up to 8, via invite); KinRate holds the family memory.
Pilot access
- The public pilot is not open yet.
- Access may be limited, changed, paused, or withdrawn while the product is tested.
- Do not use KinRate for restricted subjects during pilot.
Restricted subjects
During pilot, KinRate is for low-risk preferences such as shows, restaurants, books, recipes, sport, travel ideas, and everyday recommendations. Do not use KinRate to rate, rank, recommend, or profile people or groups around restricted subjects.
- Health, medical treatment, mental health, diagnosis, symptoms, medication, supplements, or clinical decisions.
- Financial products, investments, credit, insurance, tax, debt, legal, immigration, or other professional advice.
- Politics, voting, religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or trade-union status.
- Children, child-directed recommendations, schools, custody, safeguarding, or decisions about minors.
- Dating, sexual content, adult services, gambling, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, weapons, or illegal activity.
- Employment, housing, lending, education access, eligibility, risk scoring, or other decisions that affect a person's rights or opportunities.
- Harassment, shaming, ranking people, blacklists, surveillance, or any use that could harm a person or group.
Group consent
Each participant must consent before their ratings or comments are stored. Family memory is private by default. Sharing a wider score later requires an explicit group choice.
Sharing a wider score
Groups can keep their family memory private. Groups that later choose to share a wider score may see comparison features, such as their group score versus a larger KinRate set. Those comparisons may be limited where too few groups have shared.
Messaging platforms
During pilot, KinRate talks in your family WhatsApp room, and the web is there to look at the family memory. KinRate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta unless stated otherwise.
No reliance
KinRate records are preference signals, not professional advice. Do not rely on KinRate for medical, financial, legal, safety-critical, regulated, eligibility, or rights-affecting decisions.
