Pilot terms
KinRate is a pre-launch pilot product. These terms describe the current pilot rules in plain language and will be replaced with formal public terms before launch.
What KinRate does
KinRate turns opinions from a family or close-group conversation into a saved consensus record. Chat apps are channels; the KinRate record is stored and managed by KinRate.
Pilot access
- The public pilot is not open yet.
- Access may be limited, changed, paused, or withdrawn while the product is tested.
- Do not use KinRate for restricted subjects during pilot.
Restricted subjects
During pilot, KinRate is for low-risk preferences such as shows, restaurants, books, recipes, sport, travel ideas, and everyday recommendations. Do not use KinRate to rate, rank, recommend, or profile people or groups around restricted subjects.
- Health, medical treatment, mental health, diagnosis, symptoms, medication, supplements, or clinical decisions.
- Financial products, investments, credit, insurance, tax, debt, legal, immigration, or other professional advice.
- Politics, voting, religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or trade-union status.
- Children, child-directed recommendations, schools, custody, safeguarding, or decisions about minors.
- Dating, sexual content, adult services, gambling, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, weapons, or illegal activity.
- Employment, housing, lending, education access, eligibility, risk scoring, or other decisions that affect a person's rights or opportunities.
- Harassment, shaming, ranking people, blacklists, surveillance, or any use that could harm a person or group.
Group consent
Each participant must consent before their ratings or comments are stored. Group records are private by default. Population benchmarks require explicit group opt-in.
Benchmark access
Groups can keep their consensus private. Groups that opt in to benchmark sharing may receive comparison features, such as their score versus the wider KinRate population. Benchmark features may be limited where sample sizes are too small.
Messaging platforms
KinRate may work through WhatsApp or other communication channels during pilot. KinRate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp, Meta, Telegram, Apple, or other channel providers unless stated otherwise.
No reliance
KinRate records are preference signals, not professional advice. Do not rely on KinRate for medical, financial, legal, safety-critical, regulated, eligibility, or rights-affecting decisions.
